The Hebrew daily Haaretz reported that Israel is exploiting the lack of serious pressure from the US to implement the Trump plan, which allows it to create new events that prevent the advancement of any agreements.

The newspaper noted that the shock of October 7 still looms over Israeli society. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, ignoring his responsibility for the massive security failure, is using the catastrophe as a political tool to reintroduce himself as "Mr. Security" who is in control of the conflict.

Haaretz criticized the cabinet's opposition to forming an official commission of inquiry into the events of October 7, stating that this amounts to an attack on state institutions and that Netanyahu is treating Israel as private property.
