Araghchi: Iran, Russia closer collaboration to tackle Western sanctions
A day after his trip to Russia, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says "Closer collaboration between Moscow and Tehran will enable stronger action against unlawful Western sanctions, and promote regional stability etc."

Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi made the comments in a post on his X account on Thursday.

"Building on our Strategic Partnership Treaty, Iran and Russia's foreign ministries have agreed on a three-year roadmap to regularize and elevate our cooperation and coordination," Araghchi wrote in the first part of his post.

"Closer collaboration between Moscow and Tehran will enable stronger action against unlawful Western sanctions, promote regional stability, advance infrastructure projects, and block illegal measures in the UN Security Council," he added.

Heading a delegation, the top Iranian diplomat visited Belarus and Russia for three days between Monday and Wednesday. He held a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, followed by their joint press conference yesterday. During the presser, both sides stressed the need for closer cooperation between the two nations to tackle the Western sanctions.
