Iran’s outgoing envoy meets Georgian president
Tehran - BORNA - Emphasizing the need to transform the Caucasus into a mutually beneficial and stable region, Kavelashvili considered Iran as a constructive and important country for establishing regional peace.
The president of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the diplomat for strengthening the relationship between the two countries, which share a rich history, based on mutual respect.
Kavelashvili also appreciated Iran's steadfast and unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Georgian president wished Mahmoud Adib success in his future diplomatic endeavours and noted that he is confident that, with the active engagement of the new ambassador, Georgia-Iran relations will continue to develop dynamically.
He seized this opportunity to express his thanks for Iran’s principled position in supporting the territorial integrity of Georgia and called for continuation of the friendly and amicable cooperation between the two countries in the cultural, tourism and economic fields.
Iran’s outgoing envoy to Tbilisi, for his part, expressed hope that the process of development of cooperation and exchange of delegations, especially cultural and economic bonds, will be further strengthened in the new term of the newly-appointed ambassador.
Congratulating the Christian New Year and appreciating Georgian support in developing bilateral relations despite pressures and limitations, Adib emphasized the strategic capacities of cooperation, including the transit connection of the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea and Iran's ability to supply energy to Georgia.
Adib stressed the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus and Iran's adherence to the principles of mutual respect and territorial integrity of countries.
