Iran: Architects and Perpetrators of Aggression Against Venezuela Must Be Held Accountable
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the U.S. military aggression against Venezuela, emphasizing the urgent need to hold the "architects and perpetrators" of the attack accountable.

Tehran - BORNA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced on Saturday that it "strongly condemns the U.S. military attack on Venezuela and the gross violation of the country's national sovereignty and territorial integrity."

The statement reads: "The U.S. military attack on Venezuela is a clear violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and the basic rules of international law, particularly Paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the Charter regarding the prohibition of the use of force, and is a complete manifestation of an 'act of aggression' that must be explicitly condemned immediately by the United Nations and all governments concerned with the rule of law, international peace, and security."

Iran emphasized that "the U.S. military aggression against a sovereign state member of the United Nations is a gross violation of regional and international peace and security, the consequences of which will affect the entire international system and will further expose the system based on the UN Charter to erosion and destruction."

The statement concludes: "While reminding Venezuela's inherent right to defend its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the right to self-determination, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran notes the legal and moral responsibility of all governments and international organizations, especially the United Nations and its Security Council, to immediately stop the illegal U.S. invasion against Venezuela, and emphasizes the necessity of taking necessary measures to hold the architects and perpetrators of the crimes committed during this military aggression accountable."
