Araghchi in Call with Chinese Counterpart: Iran Has No Hostility Toward Gulf States
In a phone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran harbors no hostility toward the countries of the Persian Gulf region.

Tehran - BORNA - Araghchi and Wang Yi held a telephone discussion and consultation.

During the call, the Chinese foreign minister, on behalf of the government and people of China, extended condolences over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, during the military aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Iran’s foreign minister thanked his Chinese counterpart for the message of condolence and briefed him on developments in Iran and the region following the military aggression by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran.

Araghchi stated that the United States and the Zionist regime, in their military aggression against Iran, have violated all norms and principles of international law and have so far martyred hundreds of innocent Iranian citizens. He emphasized the determination of Iran’s armed forces to defend the country’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its citizens with strength.

Referring to the killing of Iranian children and girls, including 171 young girls in a school in the city of Minab, as well as attacks on hospitals, the Iranian foreign minister underlined the responsibility of the international community to firmly condemn the military aggression of the Zionist regime and the United States and the killing of Iranian citizens.

The senior Iranian diplomat stressed that Iran has no hostility toward the countries of the Persian Gulf and is determined to continue relations with them based on good neighborliness. He noted: “Iran’s defensive response to U.S. military bases in some Persian Gulf countries should not be construed as an attack on those countries, but rather as our legitimate response to the source and origin of the aggression.”

The Chinese foreign minister, for his part, expressed support for Iran’s defense of its sovereignty, independence, and dignity, and emphasized condemnation of the unlawful aggression by the United States and Israel.

The two sides also discussed consular cooperation during the wartime period.
