Ghalibaf: Zionists Tasted the Bitter Reality of Military Retaliation for the First Time
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the recent 12-day war saw Iran directly confronting the United States, the Zionist regime, and their allies, stressing that Iranian people and armed forces stood their ground with determination. "For the first time, the Zionists tasted the bitter reality of harsh military retaliation," he declared.

Tehran — BORNA – In a meeting with Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, held on the sidelines of the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, Qalibaf said: “The situation in the region is sensitive, and developments at both the regional and global levels could lead to new challenges. This is largely rooted in direct U.S. interventions. Iran and Türkiye share influential bilateral and regional relations, which can play a significant role in improving conditions across the region.”

Expressing gratitude for Türkiye’s official positions — including those from the government, political parties, public opinion, and parliament — in response to the 12-day aggression by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran, Qalibaf stated: "We were engaged in confrontation not just with the Zionist regime, but with the U.S. and its allies as well. The Iranian people and armed forces stood with courage and fought back. This marked the first time in the lifetime of the Zionist regime that they experienced the bitter taste of a serious military blow."

The Iranian Speaker continued: "We must acknowledge that the Zionist regime will not cease its interference in the affairs of Islamic countries. They seek to destabilize others and expand their own territory, even pushing for the disintegration of regional states like Syria. The Zionist regime is the Nazi force of the 21st century, committing atrocities under that guise."

He added: "We must stand united and firm. Just look at the situation in Gaza — beyond genocide and destruction, they are weaponizing hunger and thirst as tools of war."

Qalibaf described Iran-Türkiye bilateral ties as progressive and emphasized their potential regional impact. "We need to take serious steps in economic and trade cooperation, as well as in facilitating border affairs and strengthening parliamentary collaboration," he said.

Turkish Speaker: $50 Billion Bilateral Trade Goal Between Türkiye and Iran Will Be Realized

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, in response, said: "Israel engages in aggression under the cover of American support." He continued, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Iranian lives during the recent aggression and offer our condolences. In response, the Turkish Parliament issued a resolution in the early days of the war, backed by all major political parties, expressing full support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and standing by your side."

Kurtulmuş added: "Bilateral cooperation between our countries is expanding, and the $50 billion target in trade exchanges will be realized. The Iranian Parliamentary Friendship Group held productive talks during its recent visit to Türkiye, which will help advance this goal."
