Iran President: We Will Defend the Country with Firm Resolve and Full Capacity

Tehran - BORNA - President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, in a telephone conversation on Thursday with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, briefed him on the latest developments related to the military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, as well as what he described as their war crimes, including attacks on schools, hospitals, and Iran’s vital and industrial infrastructure.

Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran was targeted by military attacks by the United States and the Israeli regime while negotiations between Tehran and Washington were underway, emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s firm determination to defend itself using all available capacities.

The Iranian president also expressed appreciation for the sympathy and support extended by the government and people of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

For his part, the President of Azerbaijan, referring to the negative consequences of war on regional security and stability, expressed hope that peace and stability would be restored to the region as soon as possible.

The two presidents also exchanged views on the expansion of bilateral cooperation across various fields.
