Araghchi to Lavrov: U.S. Threats Against Energy Sites are Admissions of War Crimes
Tehran - BORNA - During the call, Araghchi detailed the crimes committed by the U.S. and the Israeli regime against the Iranian nation over the past 37 days. These include attacks on industrial and production infrastructure, hospitals, schools, residential areas, as well as Iran’s nuclear facilities and centers.
The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the urgent need for action by relevant international bodies, particularly the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to condemn these crimes and hold the aggressors accountable.
Araghchi also referred to U.S. threats to attack Iran's energy facilities, describing such rhetoric as an explicit admission of intent to commit war crimes. He called for a responsible approach based on international law from all influential parties in the UN Security Council to prevent the U.S. from using the council as a political tool.
For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated Moscow's principled position in condemning the military aggression by the U.S. and Israel against Iran. He stressed the necessity of halting illegal attacks on civilian targets, especially the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, and urged for the utilization of every opportunity to prevent the further expansion of the conflict.
