​Qatar Emphasizes Necessity of Immediate Halt to War, Return of Stability and Security to the Region

Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi, our country's Foreign Minister, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, discussed and exchanged views in a telephone call regarding the latest regional developments, the consequences of the military aggression by the U.S. and the Zionist regime against Iran, and Iran-Qatar bilateral relations.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, referring to his country's principled position in rejecting the use of force and respecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran, emphasized the necessity of an immediate halt to the war and the return of stability and security to the region.

Our country's Foreign Minister, emphasizing Iran's commitment to maintaining and enhancing friendly relations with regional countries, including Qatar, stated that the current situation is exclusively due to the military aggression of the U.S. and the Zionist regime against Iran, as well as the U.S. misuse of its military bases and assets in regional countries to carry out military aggression against Iran. Referring to the international legal obligation of all governments to prevent other countries from using their territory for military aggression against other nations, he expressed hope that regional countries move toward collective and endogenous peace and security.

Our country's Foreign Minister also detailed the crimes committed by the U.S. and the Zionist regime against the Iranian nation, emphasizing Iran's steadfast determination to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and stated: "The heinous war crimes committed by the U.S. and Israel, especially the attacks on schools, universities, hospitals, industrial and production infrastructure, and nuclear facilities, must be prosecuted and punished in domestic courts and international authorities."
