Khatam al-Anbiya HQ Spokesman: Security in Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman is for All or for None
Tehran - BORNA - Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, stated in a briefing: "The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran consider the defense of the country's legal rights a natural and lawful duty; accordingly, the exercise of the Islamic Republic of Iran's sovereignty in its territorial waters is the natural right of the Iranian nation."
He added that the provision of security in the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the devoted armed forces will continue with decisiveness. "As has been repeatedly announced, vessels affiliated with the enemy do not and will not have the right to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Other vessels, while adhering to the regulations of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will continue to be allowed to pass through the Strait," Zolfaghari emphasized.
The spokesperson further noted: "In view of the continued threats by the enemy against the Iranian nation and our national security, the Islamic Republic of Iran will decisively implement a permanent mechanism for the control of the Strait of Hormuz even after the end of the war."
Describing U.S. actions in international waters as piracy, Lieutenant Colonel Zolfaghari declared: "The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran explicitly and decisively announce that security of ports in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman is either for everyone or for no one. If the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran's ports in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman is threatened, no port in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will be safe."
