Ghalibaf: Ceasefire in Lebanon as Important to us as Ceasefire in Iran
Tehran - BORNA - Speaker Ghalibaf held a phone call on Thursday with Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, during which he offered his condolences for the martyrdom of the oppressed and resilient people of Lebanon, particularly the courageous fighters of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement.
Ghalibaf praised the spirit of bravery and steadfastness demonstrated by the Lebanese nation and their Speaker, noting that divine promises ensure victory wherever resistance is maintained. He stated that Iran considers the Lebanese people as its own and will never leave them behind.
Highlighting the ongoing diplomatic efforts and consultations by various high-ranking Iranian officials, including the President, Ghalibaf noted that he is personally and continuously monitoring the situation in Lebanon and the progress toward a ceasefire.
He specifically pointed out that during the Islamabad negotiations and in subsequent diplomatic efforts, Tehran has been seriously seeking to compel the enemies to establish a permanent ceasefire in all conflict zones in accordance with the agreements, reaffirming that a ceasefire in Lebanon is of equal importance to the peace and security of Iran itself.
For his part, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, provided an updated report on the latest Zionist aggression against Lebanon, stating that Israel is committing crimes in every sense of the word and is actively seeking the displacement of the Lebanese people, with more than 1.2 million citizens displaced to date.
Berri emphasized that both the people and the resistance fighters remain firm in their path and asserted that any form of official consultation or negotiation with the Zionist regime is strictly not in the interest of the Lebanese people.
He concluded the call by expressing his gratitude for Ghalibaf’s seriousness and dedicated efforts in supporting Lebanon and the Islamic Resistance.
