Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed optimism on Sunday regarding the extension of the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, stating that Turkey hopes all outstanding issues between the two nations will be resolved during this period.

Tehran - BORNA - "We hope that all existing files between Washington and Tehran are settled during the ceasefire. Both sides have shown a genuine will to reach an agreement, and we are doing our best to support this process," Fidan said.

According to Al Jazeera, the Turkish top diplomat noted that despite certain disagreements, the negotiations are largely complete. "It is necessary for the ceasefire to be extended, and I am optimistic about it. No one wants to see the resumption of war in Iran, and both the U.S. and Iran desire to continue the talks," he added.

Turning to recent military aggressions by the Israeli regime against Lebanon, Fidan emphasized that Israel must not be allowed to impose a fait accompli in the country. He also addressed the military alliance between the Israeli regime and Southern Cyprus, contrasting Turkey's diplomatic approach with that of the regime.

"We are not like Israel. They have formed a military alliance with Southern Cyprus against the Muslim countries of the region. We do not do what they do; instead, we seek ways to de-escalate conflicts in our region." he added.

Fidan clarified that the alliance between the Israeli regime and the Greek Cypriot administration is a concern for all Muslim nations in the region, particularly given Israel's recent expansionist and aggressive policies. "The claim that Turkey is creating unnecessary concern is not true. There are facts and real anxieties among the people. While Turkey is capable of protecting itself, there are weaker nations in the region looking at this military alliance with great apprehension," the Foreign Minister concluded.
