Switzerland Announces Reopening of Embassy in Tehran
The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) has announced the reopening of its embassy in Iran, which had been temporarily closed due to security concerns following the outbreak of war by the U.S. and the Zionist regime against Iran.
Tehran - BORNA - The Swiss Foreign Ministry issued a notice stating that after the temporary closure of the embassy on March 11 (20 Esfand) due to the security situation, a Swiss diplomatic team returned to Tehran on April 20 (31 Farvardin).
The announcement further detailed that four staff members traveled overland via Azerbaijan and are currently preparing for the gradual resumption of diplomatic activities.
The closure followed the events of February 28, 2026 (9 Esfand 1404), when the United States and the Zionist regime launched heavy attacks against Iran's territorial integrity, targeting nuclear and military sites, as well as high-ranking political and military officials.
