Russian Defense Minister Arrives in North Korea for Strategic Talks
Russia's Defense Minister has arrived in North Korea for an official working visit, where he is scheduled to meet with the country’s top leadership and military commanders.

Tehran - BORNA - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Andrey Belousov arrived in Pyongyang to engage in high-level discussions. As reported by the TASS news agency, the official statement noted: "Within the framework of this visit, the senior Russian defense official will meet with senior leaders and the command of the North Korean Armed Forces in Pyongyang. He will also participate in several commemorative and ceremonial events."

Belousov was received at Pyongyang International Airport by No Kwang-chol, North Korea’s Minister of the People's Armed Forces.

The Russian Defense Minister is expected to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The negotiations with Pyongyang officials are anticipated to focus on defense cooperation, regional security developments, and the strengthening of bilateral military ties.

Analysts believe the primary message of this visit is the deepening of strategic convergence between Russia and North Korea, particularly amid intensifying international tensions. Both parties are reportedly seeking to expand their security partnership as a counterweight to global geopolitical pressures.
