Iran Beach Water Polo Advances to Asian Beach Games Final; Set to Face China for Gold
The Iranian national beach water polo team has secured its place in the final of the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 after a commanding victory over Thailand in the semi-finals.
Tehran - BORNA - The Iranian squad defeated Thailand with a 3–1 set score to advance to the gold medal match. This victory marks Iran's fourth consecutive win in the tournament, following successful performances against Hong Kong, South Korea, and Kazakhstan in the earlier rounds.
The Iranian water poloists are scheduled to face the host nation, China, in the final match tomorrow to compete for the championship.
The Iranian roster for the Sanya 2026 Games features Mehdi Yazdankhah, Ashkan Iranpour Tari, Amin Ghavidel Hajiagha, Hamed Karimi, Hossein Laleh-Siahpirani, Alireza Mehri, and Arman Shams.
