Army Spokesperson: Over 170 Enemy Aircraft Downed; Strategic Sites in Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar Targeted

Tehran - BORNA - According to Akraminia, the integrated defense network—comprising the Army's Air Defense and the IRGC Aerospace Force—has successfully intercepted and struck more than 170 enemy aircraft and 16 fighter jets since the onset of hostilities.

Detailing the initial stages of the war, the spokesperson noted that the Army Air Force executed multiple sorties to neutralize threats beyond Iran's borders. These precision strikes targeted centers and bases used by counter-revolutionary groups in Erbil, Iraq, as well as specific military installations in Kuwait and Qatar that were being utilized by enemy forces.

Akraminia emphasized that these operations were guided by advanced intelligence. "Army intelligence assessments clearly indicated that the enemy intended to launch a military offensive," he stated, adding that the Ground Forces had already preemptively deployed and stationed units across various strategic regions of the country to meet any territorial threat.

Regarding maritime security, the spokesperson confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is under the absolute and coordinated control of the Iranian Armed Forces. Under a unified command structure, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) monitors and controls the western sector of the Strait, while the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy maintains full oversight of the eastern sector.

This coordinated effort ensures that the vital waterway remains under total Iranian surveillance, effectively securing the nation's maritime interests against foreign aggression.
