Ghalibaf: Trump Aims to Subjugate Iran
Tehran - BORNA - Tehran (ISNA) - Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf addressed the Iranian nation in an audio message, commending the public for their resilience. "I greet you, the dear people, who for nearly two months have been defending our beloved Iran in the streets and squares; I say 'well done' to all of you," he stated.
He further noted that since the first day of this imposed war, the enemy has implemented numerous schemes, all of which have been thwarted one by one by the Iranian nation. Ghalibaf pointed out that the initial objective of the enemy was to collapse the system within three days by assassinating the Leader of the Revolution and senior military commanders, an attempt that ultimately failed.
The Parliament Speaker added that the enemy subsequently pivoted toward destroying the country's offensive capabilities to eliminate any deterrent power. However, he noted that as time passed, they witnessed the continued and forceful deployment of Iranian missiles and drones, leading them to the conclusion that this objective is unattainable.
Continuing his address to the nation, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament stated that after failing to "Venezuelanize" Iran or incite separatism in the west, the enemy has now entered a new phase of conspiracy involving maritime blockades and psychological warfare.
Ghalibaf revealed that the enemy had planned a coup for the "Chaharshanbe Suri" festival following months of preparation and attacks on security bases throughout the war. He noted that the Iranian people unitedly delivered a "great slap" to these efforts. He further highlighted a failed attempt at a ground invasion tested in Isfahan, describing it as a scandal similar to the Tabas incident. Ghalibaf emphasized that while any of these designs could have brought a country to its knees, the Iranian nation, backed by divine grace, successfully defeated each one.
Ghalibaf stressed that the foundation of these victories was the active and cohesive presence of the people, asserting that without this social and political infrastructure, no success would have been achieved. However, he warned that the enemy has now entered a new stage of strategy, seeking to utilize maritime blockades and media propaganda to activate economic pressure and internal divisions. The ultimate goal of this phase is to weaken Iran from within or even trigger a collapse.
The Parliament Speaker pointed to Donald Trump’s recent positions as the best evidence of this new plot. He explained that Trump explicitly divides the country into "radicals" and "moderates" while immediately following such rhetoric with talk of a naval blockade. Trump further states that the blockade will remain until Iran can reach a new agreement. Ghalibaf clarified that this plan is a calculated attempt to force Iran to surrender through a combination of economic hardship and internal discord.
Addressing the public, Ghalibaf identified maintaining cohesion as the "antidote" to all enemy conspiracies, stating that its importance is now greater than ever. He warned that any divisive action aligns directly with the enemy's current program. As an official "in the middle of the field," he assured the noble nation of Iran that all officials are united in their obedience to the Leader’s commands. He emphasized that the leadership serves as the axis of unity between military and political officials. Ghalibaf concluded by expressing total confidence in the Iranian people's ability to defeat this deceptive design, promising a brilliant victory in line with divine promises of triumph and support for the faithful.
