Russia also slams U.S.-led anti-Iran resolution on Strait of Hormuz as 'inappropriate'
Following China's stance, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna characterized the draft resolution proposed by the United States and Bahrain regarding the Strait of Hormuz at the UN Security Council as "inappropriate."

Tehran - BORNA - Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, wrote on his X social media account on Saturday evening, referring to China's position: "Russia fully agrees with such an approach."

The draft resolution accuses Iran of "mining the Strait of Hormuz" and demands the lifting of Iranian control over this vital waterway. However, diplomats have noted that if put to a vote, the draft is highly likely to face vetoes from both Russia and China.

China's UN envoy had previously criticized the proposed anti-Iran draft resolution submitted by the U.S. and Bahrain to the UN Security Council concerning the Strait of Hormuz, stating that both the content of the resolution and the timing of its presentation are inappropriate.

Last month, China and Russia vetoed a similar U.S.-backed anti-Iran resolution at the UN Security Council.
