Ex-Obama advisor: Trump has another chance to exit war against Iran
A former advisor to the former U.S. president stated that the current U.S. president has another chance to exit the war against Iran through negotiations, following the Islamic Republic of Iran's new proposal.

Tehran - BORNA - Vali Nasr, an international affairs analyst and former advisor in the administration of former U.S. President Barack Obama, wrote on the X social media platform on Monday afternoon: "More discussion that current stalemate is unsustainable and hence US and Iran could go back to war."

Referring to U.S. President Donald Trump's struggles regarding exiting the war against Iran, Vali Nasr continued: "But now there is a new proposal from Iran. Trump has one more chance to negotiate his way out of the war."

Pointing to Trump's recent visit to China, he emphasized: "This time with the added factor of what he heard and learned in China."

Iran's 14-Point Proposal and Ongoing Diplomacy

Previously, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei had stated: "After we presented the 14-point plan and the American side raised its considerations, we mutually raised our considerations. Despite the fact that the American sides publicly announced that Iran's plan was rejected, we received a set of amendatory points and considerations from the Pakistani mediator. Therefore, from the day after sending our viewpoints to the American side, we received a set of proposals from the Pakistani side, which have been reviewed over the past few days. As announced yesterday, our viewpoints have been mutually reflected to the American side. The process continues through the Pakistani mediator."

Meanwhile, an Iranian source revealed that the text delivered by Iran to Pakistan focused on ending the war and establishing confidence-building measures with the United States.

On February 27 of last year, while indirect talks with the American side were underway, the U.S. and the Zionist regime launched an aggression against Iran. In response to the aggression against its territory and in self-defense, Iran carried out Operation True Promise 4, targeting U.S. bases in the region and specific targets within the occupied territories.
