Ghalibaf at OIC Parliamentary Summit: Iran Extends Hand of Brotherhood to All Islamic Nations
Tehran - BORNA - Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made the remarks at the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) Conference in Baku. He expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the PUIC Secretariat for organizing the summit, while offering condolences to Muslim nations and the free people of the world on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein.
Dignity and Honor Are Never Achieved Through Surrender
He added: "Muharram is a month that teaches us that dignity and honor are never achieved through surrender, but rather it is blood that triumphs over the sword. I hope that by adhering to the luminous path of Imam Hussein, our dialogue today serves the ultimate good of the Islamic Ummah."
The Parliament Speaker further noted: "The 20th PUIC Summit is being held under conditions where the Islamic Republic of Iran has just overcome a massive aggression. The 40-day war imposed by the US and the Zionist regime against Iran was a criminal act. In this blatant crime, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, several high-ranking military and political officials, and over 3,000 Iranian citizens—the majority of whom were women and children—were martyred. Additionally, more than 30,000 individuals were injured, and industrial, healthcare, educational, energy, transportation infrastructure, along with thousands of service and residential units in Iran, were targeted."
Iran Imposed Severe Costs on the US and the Fake Israeli Regime
He continued: "The valiant resistance of the Armed Forces and the heroic resilience of the people on the streets forced the US and the fake Israeli regime to bear severe costs. This faith-driven resistance shattered the enemy's calculations, preventing them from achieving their goals and compelling them to submit on both the fields of battle and negotiation."
The Parliament Speaker emphasized: "This war was not merely a military confrontation; it was an organized attempt to alter regional strategic balances and impose their will upon a free nation. The architects of this aggression assumed that through military pressure, encirclement, psychological operations, and terrorist actions, they could force the Iranian nation to retreat and rewrite regional equations in their favor. However, what unfolded stood in total contrast to the warmongers' calculations."
The Era of Imposing Will on Independent Nations Has Ended
He noted: "The Iranian nation demonstrated that the era of imposing will on independent nations has come to an end. You witnessed how the world admired this resilience and victory."
Ghalibaf stated: "Although this war imposed heavy costs on our nation, it revealed the fundamental truth that the resistance and steadfastness of the people, as the true source of power under the toughest conditions, disrupt the calculations of the aggressors. Sustainable peace is not the product of surrender, pressure, and humiliation, but rather the result of authority, dignity, and respect."
He recalled: "As I had previously announced during the recent war based on the views of the Supreme Leader, Iran declares to all Islamic nations, particularly regional countries and the Persian Gulf littoral states, its readiness for security agreements sustained by stable economic cooperation, making Islamic territories safe for all investors and secure against common adversaries."

Ghalibaf stressed: "The Islamic Republic of Iran extends its hand of brotherhood and cooperation to all Islamic countries."
He added: "One cannot discuss the future of the region while bypassing the Palestinian issue. Palestine is not merely a political topic or a diplomatic dossier. The experience of the past 80 years has demonstrated that no sustainable security architecture will take shape in West Asia without a just resolution to the Palestinian issue."
The Resistance of the Palestinian Nation Exemplifies Legitimate Defense Against Occupation
The Parliament Speaker stated: "A peace built upon injustice will possess a fragile stability, and security that overlooks parts of the region will sooner or later turn into widespread insecurity. From this perspective, defending the legitimate rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation against daily Zionist aggression is not just defending a historical ideal, but defending a logic where justice and stability are two sides of the same coin."
He concluded: "It is the core belief of our martyred Imam and our enduring strategy that the Palestinian nation, like all nations of the world, possesses the right to self-determination through a referendum involving the original inhabitants of that land—including Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Until then, the resistance of the Palestinian nation remains an embodiment of a nation's legitimate defense against occupation."
