Donyamali Sends Message to Iran National Football Team
Tehran - BORNA - Ahmad Donyamali, in a message addressed to the Iran national football team, appreciated the brave, zealous, and proud efforts of our country's national players in the World Cup competitions.
The text of the Sports Minister's message reads as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
What the Iran national football team displayed before the eyes of the world in the World Cup arena was a manifestation of brave, chivalrous football infused with national zeal; a performance that fell short of advancing to the first knockout stage by only a narrow, millimeter margin.
The continuous efforts and high ambition of the national players, although ultimately not leading to the result they deserved, represent a valuable asset for the country's sports through their resolute determination, firm will, and exemplary spirit. I deem it necessary to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all players, technical staff, management, the national team’s executive team, as well as the officials of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran who accompanied and supported the team along this path.
The appreciative people of Iran well know that the national team entered these competitions under unique and difficult circumstances. The imposition of wartime conditions disrupted the preparation process from its natural and planned trajectory, and subsequently, the bad faith of the American host, coupled with FIFA's passive and irresponsible approach toward these conditions, created double difficulties in the national team's path of participation; conditions that rendered the competition unequal and eroding for Iranian football.
In this regard, I find it necessary to express my sincere gratitude for the valuable support of the honorable government, particularly the honorable President and the honorable First Vice President, who have always been supportive of sports and the national football team.
Despite all these obstacles, the national team emerged from the field with pride, and I hope the honest and zealous efforts of these children of Iran have brought satisfaction to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. Undoubtedly, we will seriously continue the path of strengthening the dignity and authority of the country's sports with the aim of realizing a "Strong Iran" and possessing "Strong Sports."
I hope the Iran national football team, through meticulous planning, will undergo the best preparation path for a powerful participation in the AFC Asian Cup, to once again gift joy and pride to the dear people of Iran.
