Iran's Parliament Speaker stated that friendly nations are companions during difficult times, expressing appreciation for the Pakistani people and officials for their support, including during the Ramadan War.

Tehran - BORNA - Yusuf Raza Gilani, Chairman of Pakistan's Senate, met with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's Parliament Speaker, on the sidelines of the farewell and tribute ceremony for the martyred leader.

Ghalibaf expressed gratitude for the Pakistani parliamentary delegation's presence and thanked the Pakistani nation for their solidarity during the Ramadan War, saying: "We appreciate the Pakistani people and officials. The Pakistani people are friends in both good and difficult times."

Gilani expressed condolences to the Iranian people and officials and noted the history of his visits to Tehran, including traveling for Imam Khomeini's funeral and during his tenure as Prime Minister.

He stated that most of his visits took place during Ayatollah Khamenei's leadership, witnessing significant developments in Iran during that period.

Gilani highlighted Iran's achievements on both the battlefield and diplomatic front, saying: "I see a bright future for Iran, and with Iran's progress, peace and stability in the region will also move forward."

He emphasized the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, adding: "There are many opportunities for cooperation between Iran's Parliament and Pakistan's Senate, and I believe that developing people-to-people relations at various levels, as well as interactions between officials, can bring further progress in bilateral relations."
