Iranian Interior Minister Meets Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad
Tehran - BORNA - Earlier in the day, Momeni held his first high-level meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Commander of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Pakistani counterpart, Senator Mohsin Reza Naqvi, later today.
Momeni arrived in the Pakistani capital late Monday, where he was received at the airport by Interior Minister Naqvi. The senior Iranian delegation accompanying Momeni includes representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Ministry of Agriculture, Law Enforcement Command (FARAJA), and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
Speaking upon his arrival in Islamabad, Momeni stated that the key objectives of the visit include following up on agreements reached during previous presidential summits, expanding bilateral economic ties, and addressing pressing regional developments.
