A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned Tuesday that any country or company receiving funds from Iranian frozen assets will be barred from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran - BORNA - The statement by Ibrahim Zolfaghari came in response to claims by the U.S. President that Washington would compensate foreign vessel operators whose ships were damaged in the Strait of Hormuz using seized Iranian assets.

"While warning the criminal U.S. President about the consequences of this illegal action, we announce to all companies and countries that accept Trump's offer and use frozen Iranian assets under this pretext that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer allow any of their vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz," Zolfaghari said.

Zolfaghari added that the damaged vessels had incurred losses due to navigating unauthorized and unsafe southern routes created by U.S. military actions in the region.
