xAI Makes AI Photo and Video Tool “Grok Imagine” Free for All Users

Tehran - BORNA - According to TechCrunch, the tool — previously limited to subscribers of premium plans — is now accessible at no cost to users of Grok’s iOS and Android apps, with free access to its basic features.

Grok Imagine allows users to generate short, audio-equipped videos by entering text prompts or uploading images. The feature is designed to revive the short, engaging video experience reminiscent of the once-popular Vine platform. However, certain advanced options — including the “Spicy” mode, which enables NSFW content generation — remain exclusive to paying subscribers.

This move places xAI in direct competition with other AI content-generation tools such as OpenAI’s Sora and Google’s Veo 3. Free access to the feature is currently available in the United States, with plans to expand to international markets underway.
