Ghalibaf warns US attacks on Iranian assets would put American energy interests at risk
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, head of Iran’s negotiating team, has warned that any US attack on Iranian assets would draw retaliation against American oil and gas interests in the region.
Tehran - BORNA - Ghalibaf made the remarks in a post on X in response to recent threats by US War Secretary Pete Hegseth, referring to what he described as Iran’s new military strategy.
“It is simple and easy to understand: The oil and gas production chain across this vast and dispersed region is accessible and vulnerable. The American oil and gas companies operating in these waters and facilities are equally vulnerable,” Ghalibaf wrote.
“If you attack our assets, your assets will be attacked,” he added.
“We have already demonstrated this capability. Ask your military bases that have been put out of operation.”
