Iran announces regional meeting of Persian Gulf littoral states in Oman

According to the spokesperson, the meeting is scheduled for Monday in Oman and will include representatives from Iran, Iraq, and other Persian Gulf littoral states. Recalling the framework agreed upon between Tehran and Muscat on temporary transit corridors in the waterway, Baghaei reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic remains committed to securing maritime navigation. However, he cautioned that so long as aggressive US actions and illegal interventions—including the naval blockade and economic warfare—persist, navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz cannot be fully guaranteed.
