Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has declared that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until Tehran's seven conditions outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum are fully met, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic is prepared for both military confrontation and negotiations.

Tehran - BORNA - Speaking at a virtual parliamentary session on Sunday, Ghalibaf dismissed Washington's recent diplomatic overtures and contradictory rhetoric as "cognitive warfare" aimed at disrupting Iran's strategic calculations.

"The Americans, who project a different narrative in the media, have recently put forward proposals through mediators. However, they must realize that the era of playing for time and dictating unilateral demands is over," the speaker stated. "The stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran is entirely transparent and definitive: until our seven conditions based on the Islamabad Memorandum are met, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened."

He noted that while US officials understand Iran's decisiveness, they have increased their military threats and contradictory statements to deceive domestic and global public opinion. "We base our actions on the enemy's behavior and deeds, not their empty rhetoric and false media dichotomies," he added.

"We operate based on the strategy of authority and rationality; we neither get carried away by emotions nor are we intimidated. We both fight and negotiate," Ghalibaf asserted. "We are present on the military battlefield with all our might and will confront the enemy with new surprises, while simultaneously utilizing the tool of diplomacy to consolidate our military supremacy and secure the rights of the Iranian nation."

The top lawmaker reiterated his view that "whoever is prepared for war emerges victorious at the negotiating table," assuring that Iran and the Resistance front are currently at the peak of their operational strength and national cohesion under the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Touching upon the upcoming anniversary of the October 7 operation, Ghalibaf described the event as a historic turning point that irreparably dismantled the Zionist regime's national security doctrine and shattered its facade of absolute deterrence and intelligence supremacy.

"The identity and security structure of this regime has collapsed, and its ruined foundation cannot be rebuilt with bombardments and crimes," he said, adding that even unprecedented US support cannot save the regime from moving toward complete annihilation.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the speaker commemorated National Police Week, emphasizing the parliament's definitive priority to modernize law enforcement equipment and improve officers' livelihoods. He also praised the Iranian sports delegation for securing 52 medals at the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games, specifically lauding the historic performance of Iranian female athletes who clinched three gold medals, calling it a successful model of authentic championship that nullifies the enemy's fabricated narratives on the global stage.
