The Kremlin spokesman announced today that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in coordination with his Iranian counterpart, has conveyed Tehran's perspective on a potential resolution to the illegal and aggressive US war against Iran to US President Donald Trump.

Tehran - BORNA - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Saturday that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in coordination with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, transmitted Tehran's views on resolving the war to the US President.

Russia's RIA Novosti news agency reported that Peskov referred to two recent meetings between Putin and Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Caspian Sea environmental summits in Turkmenistan. During one of these meetings, Putin informed the Iranian president of his upcoming telephone conversation with the American president.

Putin and Trump held a telephone conversation last night.

"In coordination with the Iranian president, Putin conveyed Iran's perspective on the possible resolution of this conflict to Trump," Peskov said.

Following the US violation of its commitments under the memorandum of understanding to end the war and the suspension of official negotiations between the two sides—which were supposed to continue within a 60-day period after the document's implementation regarding mechanisms for releasing Iran's frozen assets, lifting sanctions, and Iran's nuclear program—the exchange of messages between the two parties has continued through mediators.

During his meeting with his Russian counterpart in Turkmenistan, Pezeshkian emphasized that unilateralism by the US is unacceptable. Regarding the negotiations to end the war, he said: "We are engaged in dialogue, but every time we talk with the US, they attack again. However, we will not withdraw from the negotiation table and dialogue. We had made proposals, and the Americans had also presented new proposals. We have made our modifications to these proposals. Once finalized, we are scheduled to sit down and conclude them through existing intermediaries."

In his meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Putin stressed the resolution of issues and ending the war in the region, stating: "The key issue in the region is resolving the current crisis, which the Islamic Republic of Iran played no role in creating, and numerous nations are currently striving to end this war through diplomacy. Iran has also presented its new proposals to end the war."

Reaffirming that Moscow's stance in this situation is completely clear, the Russian president added: "Russia will make every effort to resolve this crisis through diplomatic channels."

Regarding the recent call between Putin and Trump, the Kremlin spokesman also mentioned that the Russian president agreed with some of the American side's proposals aimed at de-escalating the Ukraine war.

According to Peskov, the majority of the conversation was specifically dedicated to the issue of resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
