Ghalibaf: Iran's Leader in complete health
Tehran - BORNA - Addressing an open session of the Majlis in his pre-agenda speech, Ghalibaf said: "One of the questions usually raised concerns the health of the Leader of the Revolution. I tell the representatives that the Leader is in complete health."
"What I observed in this meeting — and for me, who has known him closely — was particularly striking: his strong spirit, his energy, his hopefulness, and his dignity and inner calm. When I was speaking with him, these qualities were entirely tangible," he said.
Ghalibaf said the Leader has "complete mastery of issues, in both their generalities and their details," adding that he had known this beforehand.
'The martyred leader was both leader and father to the Leader of the Revolution'
Ghalibaf also addressed what he called a bitter reality: "We are in circumstances in which our martyred leader and imam was martyred, and this crime brought great grief to all of us and was a great loss. But in any case, the martyred imam was, for the Leader of the Revolution, both a leader and a father, and this great grief is a calamity for his family and those close to him. Therefore, in these sensitive conditions, his spirit is very noteworthy."
He said the Leader's dignity and inner calm "show strong faith in God and deep belief in the people."
"Today is a concrete instance of the great Imam's words that 'all of Islam stands against all of unbelief,'" Ghalibaf said. "With all my being, I felt that this dignity and inner calm reflect strong faith in God and deep belief in the people."
On the meeting's agenda
Ghalibaf said the Leader followed the topics raised "with precision" and issued guidance on various matters, and that he was "very hopeful and positive about the outlook and horizon ahead," stressing forward-looking issues.
He said the Leader paid close attention to macroeconomic indicators and to avoiding overestimation and underestimation, and that securing production chains was another key topic — "the third time he has seriously followed up this matter with me," covering raw materials, production cycles and essential goods.
Ghalibaf said the Leader stressed preserving people's purchasing power and attention to livelihoods, "particularly the livelihoods of the armed forces and the fighters present on the battlefield."
He said the Leader raised points on the seventh development plan, including reconstruction, and that discussions also covered military matters, the war and the resistance front, as well as diplomacy, negotiations and economic war — "particularly economic exclusion and the naval blockade."
Ghalibaf said the Leader stressed maximum unity among officials and the adoption of firm and unified positions, "especially among officials and a fortiori at the level of the leadership," and that this coordination exists.
He said the Leader also stressed the latest state of relations and discussions with strategic partners, "particularly China," and had issued guidance to be followed, and emphasized cooperation between the government and parliament.
'Unity in word and deed'
Summing up, Ghalibaf said: "If I were to put all of this in one phrase, it is the words of our great Imam — the martyred and present Imam — that the secret of our victory in succeeding and passing through tensions and challenges is unity in word and deed."
Speaking after Ghalibaf's address, MPs chanted: "The blood in our veins is a gift to our Leader," "Death to America" and "Death to Israel."
