Iran's steel output

Iran ramped up its steel output in November to maintain its position as a leading global steel producer despite foreign sanctions that have affected the country’s energy supply and distribution systems.

Iran has significantly reduced its steel imports amid a surge in domestic production that has supported higher exports from the country.

The Iranian steel Producers Association (ISPA) has reported that the country’s export of steel products registered a 41 percent growth in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2025).
