Cairo Agreement

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the United States and European troika — Britain, France and Germany — have "killed" the Cairo agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) through their provocative acts.

In reaction to the adoption of the anti-Iran resolution by the Board of Governors, Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi announced that Iran has sent an official letter to the IAEA Director General declaring the Cairo Understanding invalid and terminated.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran welcomes cessation of the Israeli regime’s genocide in the Gaza Strip, while advising serious caution in light of multiple instances of Tel Aviv’s betrayal of previous agreements.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that while messages have been exchanged between Tehran and Washington — directly, indirectly, or through intermediaries — no new conditions have been communicated by the United States. He also underlined that the Cairo Agreement can no longer serve as the framework for Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
