Iran Condemns Israeli Strike on Doha as “Dangerous, Criminal Act”
Tehran - BORNA - Speaking in Cairo, where he is accompanying Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Baghaei reacted to reports of multiple explosions in Qatar’s capital earlier in the day. Israel’s military had claimed responsibility for an airstrike aimed at assassinating senior Hamas leaders holding talks in Doha.
“This action by the Zionist regime continues the crimes it has perpetrated in full disregard of all international norms and regulations,” Baghaei said in a televised interview. “It is a grave violation of Qatar’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and it constitutes an attack on Palestinian negotiators.”
The spokesperson added that Iran is closely examining the details of the incident but stressed that, under international law, Israel’s actions represent a severe breach of the principles and purposes of the UN Charter.
He warned that such aggression should serve as a wake-up call for the region and the broader international community. “This must be seen as a warning about the dangers of continued inaction and indifference toward Israel’s aggressions and violations across occupied Palestine and West Asia,” Baghaei said.
