Iran’s Women Rise in Global Rankings as Men Consolidate Positions in World Table Tennis
The latest World Table Tennis (WTT) rankings for Week 40 of 2025 have been released, with Iranian women continuing their steady rise and the men consolidating their global standings.

Tehran - BORNA - In the women’s division, Shima Safaei retained her position as Iran’s top-ranked player, standing at No. 185 worldwide. Veteran Neda Shahsavari climbed one spot to No. 231, while Mahshid Eshterei moved up two places to No. 261. Rising star Elina Rahimi also gained a place, now ranked No. 275 globally.

On the men’s side, Noshad Alamiyan remained Iran’s leading player at World No. 80, holding steady in the rankings. Beniyamin Faraji followed as Iran’s second-ranked male player at No. 135, with Navid Shams at No. 160 and Nima Alamiyan close behind at No. 164.

At the global level, China continues to dominate men’s table tennis, with Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong occupying the top two positions, while Brazil’s Hugo Calderano sits at World No. 3.

These results highlight the progress of Iranian women in climbing the international ladder, while the men’s team maintains a strong presence within the global elite.
