Tehran - BORNA - Ali Alipour made a remarkable comeback after failing his first snatch attempt at 171 kg, successfully lifting 172 kg in his second try and 176 kg in his third. The Iranian lifter improved his previous record from the Asian Championships by two kilograms.
Meanwhile, Alireza Moeini, Iran’s second representative in the same weight class, opened strongly with a successful lift of 174 kg, followed by 179 kg, and capped his performance by lifting 182 kg, setting a new world record.
Moeini's flawless execution and consistent technique secured him the gold medal, while Alipour’s determined performance earned him the silver.
In this category, Karlos Nasar, regarded as one of the strongest contenders, failed to complete any of his lifts successfully, leaving the Iranian duo to dominate the podium.
The results mark another proud moment for Iranian weightlifting, reaffirming the nation’s position among the global leaders in the sport.
