Iran’s Para Powerlifting Youth Team Finishes Fourth at World Championships With Nine Medals
Tehran - BORNA - Iran’s national youth para powerlifting team concluded its participation at the World Para Powerlifting Championships in Cairo with an impressive haul of nine medals — eight golds and one silver — securing fourth place overall in the global standings.
According to the Iran Sports Federation for the Disabled, the two-day event brought together 124 athletes from 28 National Paralympic Committees, with Iran’s young men and women achieving historic results in both categories.
The medalists are as follows:
Atieh Sadat Hosseini – two gold medals (61 kg category)
Mani Saeedi – one gold medal (88 kg)
Hassan Mohammad Hosseinpour – one gold and one silver (80 kg)
Reza Enayatollahi – two gold medals (97 kg)
Amirali Es'haqnia – two gold medals (+107 kg)
Additionally, Amirali Rashidimehr placed fourth in the 49 kg category, and Mohammad Karimnia ranked fifth in the 65 kg division.
With these achievements, Iran’s youth team finished fourth in the overall standings, behind Uzbekistan, Egypt, and Armenia, who claimed the top three positions respectively.
The senior division of the World Championships begins today, with Iranian representatives set to compete starting tomorrow.
