Velayati: Iran, China, and Russia Play Effective Role in Shaping New World Order
Tehran - BORNA - During the meeting, the two sides emphasized strengthening and expanding strategic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and China. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The officials discussed bilateral relations, international and regional developments, particularly the expansionist policies and interventions of the United States in various parts of the world, as well as Washington’s support for the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza.
Velayati highlighted the depth of the historical and distinguished relationship between Iran and China, stating: "The relations between the two countries enjoy strategic and deep-rooted dimensions, and cooperation can be expanded further in light of regional and global developments."
He added: "Iran-China relations are based on mutual interests, mutual respect, and political independence. In Asia, there are three independent powers—Iran, China, and Russia—that play an effective role in shaping the new world order."
The Advisor to the Supreme Leader on International Affairs also expressed gratitude for China’s principled positions toward Iran, particularly regarding the "snapback mechanism," emphasizing: "Beijing's constructive support in international forums demonstrates the depth of the friendly cooperation and mutual trust between the two countries."
The Chinese Ambassador to Tehran, Zhong Peiwu, for his part, expressed pleasure at meeting with Velayati, stating: "The history of Iran-China relations is long and valuable, and we appreciate your prominent and long-standing role in developing relations between the two countries."
He added: "The development of Iran-China relations has always been of special importance to us. We thank the Supreme Leader and Your Excellency for your attention to expanding bilateral cooperation, and China is ready to further deepen its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields."
