China's Ambassador in Tehran: Beijing Sends Signal for Shared Development to Other Countries
The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tehran, referring to the plans drafted by the Chinese government, stated: "While China develops itself, it also sends a signal of shared development to other countries."

Tehran - BORNA - Zhong Peiwu, the Chinese Ambassador to Iran, held a press conference today, Monday, at the country's embassy in Tehran. He began by saying: "You journalists have a great interest in the development of Iran-China relations, and today I want to speak about an important event that has a great impact on the development of bilateral relations."

Referring to the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he stated: "In this session, the proposal for China's next five-year plan has been determined, and it encompasses the path of development in the Chinese style. The 14th Five-Year Plan is important because it includes the first program of China's new construction mechanism."

The Chinese diplomat further noted: "The CPC Central Committee, led by Mr. Xi Jinping, has overcome all difficulties, navigated through the impact of COVID-19 and various crises, and achieved new accomplishments. The drafting of the Five-Year Plan proposals is a necessity for realizing China's grand roadmap."

He added: "China seeks to achieve communist modernization by 2035. This planning system with the Five-Year Plan provides an important window into China's governance with Chinese wisdom, and it also provides a model for the modernization process for developing countries. While China develops itself, it also sends a signal of shared development to other countries."

Zhong Peiwu emphasized: "The Chinese side is willing, together with the Iranian side, to implement the agreements reached during the recent meeting between the leaders of the two countries and insists on cooperation based on mutual and win-win benefits to bring prosperity to the people of both nations."

The Chinese Ambassador to Iran continued by discussing the Chinese government’s Five-Year Plans: "I must emphasize that these Five-Year Plan proposals have laid the groundwork for a shared future, which is one of the main goals of China's diplomacy. I believe that Iran and China share common plans. To promote a community of nations with a shared future for mankind, we need common resolve. We will soon implement the four major initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping: Global Development, Global Security, Global Civilization, and Global Governance. These four initiatives have been approved globally and also in Iran."

The Chinese Ambassador in Tehran clarified: "During the meeting between the Presidents of the two countries, President Pezeshkian announced his support for these four important initiatives, especially Global Governance."

Referring to his meeting with Ali Akbar Velayati, he said: "Whenever I meet with him, I benefit from his wisdom. In this meeting, he stated that the current situation is similar to the past. His views are similar to those of the Chinese side: in these great changes, there is a prominent characteristic, namely, hegemonic power and unilateralism. Therefore, we see that the international community opposes unilateralism because this path ultimately leads to a dead end. However, in the developments of the past century, there has been a demand for multilateralism and the multipolarization of the international system."

Zhong Peiwu continued: "China and Iran agree with and implement multilateralism, and both countries hope to establish a more equitable international order. We have common positions on this issue, and it forms a good foundation for cooperation between the two countries."

The Chinese Ambassador in Tehran stated: "Some countries, such as the United States, are not only building walls but also dealing a major blow to international trade, yet China still considers economic globalization. The Chinese side believes that this world needs equitable and orderly multipolarization, and that the necessity of economic globalization is essential. For this reason, the Chinese side emphatically agrees with economic globalization and insists on defining its programs with open-door policies."

Zhong Peiwu added: "In fact, the Chinese actions to promote economic globalization have a long list. In recent years, China has promoted the open-door policy and pursued foreign investment reforms. These open-door policy actions have been welcomed by all countries around the world."

The Chinese diplomat also said: "During the Five-Year Plan period, we will expand the open-door policy, welcome the multilateral system, and promote trade development and innovation."

The Chinese Ambassador in Tehran also stated: "In the 14th Five-Year Plan, China has planned for the development of new quality productive forces. During this period, China's GDP surpassed 130 trillion, and emerging industries such as Artificial Intelligence and renewable energy achieved a significant leap."

He noted: "During this time, China has adhered to the open-door policy, and China's general tariff level has been reduced to 7.3 percent. China has promoted the construction of the Belt and Road with over 150 countries and 130 international groups. According to new data, in the first half of this year, a growth of 5.2 percent was achieved, which is a great accomplishment."

Zhong Peiwu remarked: "We have full confidence in our Five-Year Plan. For example, in this huge Chinese market with a population of 1.4 billion, 400 million of whom are at the intermediate income level, this will reach 800 million. For this reason, we believe we will continue the miracle of rapid economic development and a stable society."

Regarding China's foreign policy in the country's new plans, the Chinese Ambassador in Tehran stated: "In the field of foreign policy, we have released a positive signal to the entire world to share mutual and win-win benefits. China is willing to share common opportunities with countries worldwide, including Iran. In this new five-year period, while China promotes its modernization, it also safeguards global peace and development."

He clarified: "Xi Jinping has put forward a new concept for the Community of Shared Future for Mankind. All this concept and initiative demonstrate the global perspective of the Communist Party of China."

The Chinese diplomat added: "Regarding the tariff war, it is something that has been seen in the last century. We must be in the same boat and be able to overcome difficulties. Protectionism, trade wars, and tariff wars only harm the stability of the global chain and have a negative impact on the global economy. China's position on this issue is clear. A trade war is not beneficial to any side. Both China and the U.S. must resolve relevant issues based on equality, mutual interests, and negotiations."

In response to a question about the joint letter by Iran, Russia, and China to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council, and whether the joint campaign can neutralize Western actions, the Ambassador said: "The Chinese side always insists that the political, diplomatic, and peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue is the only choice, and we oppose threats of coercion and pressure from sanctions. The relevant countries insisted on implementing the snapback. This action is not constructive and has led to a severe setback in the diplomatic process of the Iranian nuclear issue."

He clarified: "The Chinese side calls on the U.S. and European countries to show political goodwill and make diplomatic efforts, so that the Iranian nuclear issue returns to the diplomatic path and to prevent further escalation of tensions."

The Chinese diplomat also stated: "The Chinese side remains committed to the principles of equality and a constructive role for resolving this issue, one that considers the concerns of all parties. In this regard, we are willing to maintain communications with the Iranian side."
