Nicaraguan Envoy in Tehran: US Aggression Against Venezuela Threatens All of Latin America
The Ambassador of Nicaragua to Iran stated that U.S. threats targeting Venezuela represent a danger to the entire Latin American region, affirming his country's firm support for Venezuela in the face of these challenges.

Tehran - BORNA - The statement from the Nicaraguan envoy follows a supportive stance adopted by officials of Nicaragua's left-leaning government toward Venezuela amidst escalating U.S. pressure and recent developments in the Caribbean. Managua views itself as part of a united front resisting imperialism and foreign interference in Latin American affairs.

This strong position was recently underscored by Daniel Ortega, the Co-President of Nicaragua, who declared that any U.S. military aggression against Venezuela would be tantamount to aggression against all of Latin America.

Ortega was quoted as stating: "It is the Yankees who confront all humanity and want to turn our region into a war zone. Attacking the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is confronting all of Latin America."

The Nicaraguan Ambassador in Tehran noted that the U.S. threats are viewed as a danger to the entire region, adding: "Nicaragua, like Venezuela, is one of the countries affected by international sanctions, especially those imposed by the United States."

Blockade and Solidarity

The diplomat highlighted the shared struggle of the Venezuelan people against U.S. imperialism, saying: "We in Nicaragua stand alongside the people of Venezuela."

He pointed out that the current situation involves a military blockade against Venezuela, with reports of "American ships occasionally entering Venezuelan waters, and Venezuelan airspace being violated."

The Ambassador concluded that these threats "can become serious at any moment," and affirmed: "We, as a country that is sanctioned and also threatened, stand by the Venezuelan people and declare our solidarity with the government and nation of that country."
