Iranian Diplomat: We Will Resolutely Defend Our Nuclear Rights

Tehran - BORNA - Majid Nili, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Germany, issued a statement reacting to the recent resolution passed against Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors.

Citing the explicit remarks of Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, in an interview with the Uruguayan newspaper El Observador, Nili stressed: "The Director General of the Agency has clearly and unambiguously stated that Iran is not pursuing the construction of a nuclear weapon. This reality is rooted in Iran's history, civilization, and deep religious principles, and it must be the main criterion for judging the sincerity of those who still insist on repeating false claims."

The Iranian Ambassador described the presentation of the recent resolution by the three European countries and the United States in the Board of Governors as the "continuation of biased and tension-creating behavior" and based on "obsolete sanctions and pretexts."

He also strongly criticized the international community's silence regarding the "blatant aggression against Iran's nuclear facilities" and the disregard for Iran's inalienable right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, calling this approach an example of "selective diplomacy lacking minimum sincerity."

Majid Nili concluded by emphasizing: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as history bears witness, will resolutely and unequivocally defend its nuclear rights and national interests."
