Kremlin Confirms Witkoff's Visit to Moscow This Week
Tehran - BORNA - Dmitry Peskov, the Spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Palace (the Kremlin), said on Sunday that Steve Witkoff, the Special Envoy of the US President, will visit Russia this week.
Witkoff's visit is scheduled to take place just before Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trip to India.
When asked by Russian media about the possibility of Witkoff traveling to Russia on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday—prior to Putin's departure for India on Thursday—Peskov replied, "It seems your guess is correct."
Earlier on Wednesday, Yuri Ushakov, Russia's Deputy Chief of Staff, stated that a number of American officials, along with Witkoff, would be traveling to Moscow.
The US President’s chief negotiator had previously expressed optimism regarding the prospects of implementing the Ukraine peace plan for the commercial relationship between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia.
