US to Lift Some Belarus Sanctions, Including on Potash Exports
The US Special Envoy for Belarus announced that Washington intends to lift certain trade sanctions against the country, including restrictions on the export of Belarusian potash.

Tehran - BORNA - US Special Envoy John Koale stated that these sanctions would be lifted immediately in line with directives from US President Donald Trump, calling the decision a positive development for Belarus.

The BelTA news agency quoted the American diplomat as announcing that he discussed the situation in Ukraine and Venezuela, as well as ways to normalize relations between Washington and Minsk, with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

He noted that the conversation was "very good" and that they talked about the future and ways to establish good relations between the United States and Belarus.

Following the talks today (Saturday), the US Special Envoy told reporters that the Belarusian President has a long history of relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and therefore offered "good advice on the process of settling the situation in Ukraine."
