22-Year-Old Iranian Prodigy Named World's Most Dominant Greco-Roman Wrestler
The United World Wrestling (UWW) has officially named Saeid Esmaeili, Iran’s Olympic and World gold medalist, as the most dominant Greco-Roman wrestler in the world for the year 2025.

Tehran - BORNA - The 22-year-old wrestling phenom earned this prestigious title following an extraordinary season. Esmaeili secured 11 consecutive and decisive victories during the 2025 World Championships and the Islamic Solidarity Games, capturing the gold medal with absolute authority in both major competitions.

This recognition adds to a historic year for Iranian wrestling. Earlier, Gholamreza Farrokhi was named the "Phenom of the Year" in Greco-Roman wrestling, while the Iranian national team, which secured the top global ranking, was honored as the "Best Team of the Year."
