Fidan: U.S. Prepared to Compromise with Iran on Uranium Enrichment
The Turkish Foreign Minister has stated that Washington is prepared to reach a compromise with Iran regarding its uranium enrichment program, though he warned that an all-or-nothing approach could trigger further conflict in the region.
Tehran - BORNA - Hakan Fidan, the Foreign Minister of Türkiye, told the Financial Times that it is a positive development that the Americans appear willing to accept Iran’s enrichment activities within specified limits. He emphasized that flexibility is crucial for progress in the ongoing diplomatic efforts between the two sides.
However, the Turkish Foreign Minister cautioned against overreaching in the negotiations. Fidan noted that if the United States insists on "addressing all issues simultaneously," the outcome could potentially lead to another war in the region. He stressed that a realistic and prioritized approach to the dialogue is essential to ensuring regional stability and avoiding military escalation.
