The foreign ministers of Iran and France discussed the latest regional developments during a phone call on Saturday night.

Tehran - BORNA - Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s foreign minister, held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi regarding the war imposed on Iran by the United States and Israel, as well as the current situation in the region.

During the conversation, Araghchi said the United States and Israel are the sole factors behind the insecurity prevailing in the region and in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian foreign minister stressed that Iran’s defensive actions are directed exclusively at the military bases and facilities of the aggressors in the region and should not be interpreted as attacks against regional countries.

He also said the main root of insecurity across the region, including Lebanon, is the aggression and expansionist policies of Israel.
