China Stresses Need to End War

Tehran - BORNA - Lin Jian, spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, commenting on Iran-U.S. negotiations and China’s position, said: “China has emphasized more than once that a prolonged conflict is in no one’s interest. It will only lead to more casualties, unnecessary losses, and the spillover of the situation beyond borders.”

He stressed: “The primary priority is to actively promote peace negotiations, make use of the opportunity for peace, and bring the war to an end. China supports all efforts that lead to de-escalation. All parties should make efforts and create conditions for truly meaningful and sincere negotiations.”

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson added: “China will continue to play a constructive role in this regard.”
