Ulyanov: NATO is Preparing for War

Tehran - BORNA - Mikhail Ulyanov wrote on the social media platform X on Saturday evening: "European NATO members are obsessed with the idea of an inevitable war in Europe and the desire to show their mental and technical readiness for it."

Pointing to military exercises in Finland, Ulyanov noted: "The 'Northern Strike' military exercises have begun in Finland, just 70 kilometers from the Russian border. It seems they are actually paving the way for a real war."

The TASS news agency reported that from May 2 to May 12, 2026, NATO is conducting the "Northern Strike 26" exercises in Finland. These maneuvers are taking place at a training ground 70 kilometers from the Russian border (the Karelian section) and are part of a broader series of drills held throughout April and May involving the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Estonia, and Lithuania.
