Iranian Envoy to Riyadh: Saudi Arabia remains committed to de-escalation
Tehran - BORNA - Alireza Enayati wrote on the X platform: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains committed to its stance in support of de-escalation and preventing further escalation of tensions, as well as supporting negotiations and efforts in this regard."
The Iranian Ambassador added on Friday: "Caution should be exercised regarding what is attributed in the media to anonymous sources—some of whom are claimed to be Saudi—which contradicts this position."
The ambassador's remarks come as a Saudi official confirmed that the Kingdom has not granted any permission for the use of its airspace to support U.S.-led offensive military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Furthermore, a Saudi source told Al-Hadath that reports published by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal regarding the opening of Saudi and Kuwaiti airspace to U.S. aircraft are "incorrect," a point also emphasized by other Saudi officials.
The Saudi source suggested that "certain parties are seeking to distort the image of Saudi Arabia's position for unknown reasons."
