Iran names 12-rider squad for 2026 Asian Mountain Bike Championships training camp
Tehran - BORNA -The selection process will commence with specialized performance testing and evaluations at the National Cycling Camp in Tehran from May 21 to May 23, 2026. Following this initial assessment, the selected athletes will be dispatched to a second intensive training phase in Kelardasht, Mazandaran Province, scheduled to run from May 24 to June 12, 2026. The invited athletes for this crucial preparatory stage include Alireza Osanlou and Mohammad Sina Rabiei in the Men's U-23 category, Alireza Safari, Amirhossein Zojaji, Faraz Shokri, Nima Jamshidi, and Sina Amiralaei in the Men's Elite category, Ala Saleh Riahi in the Women's U-23 category, and Mobina Asadi, Nastaran Faraji, Fatemeh Abbasi, and Elnaz Ghobadi in the Women's Elite category.
Furthermore, the coaching and support staff overseeing the camp will consist of coaches Mohammad Pour-Sharif and Parviz Mardani, alongside Seyed Mehdi Kaboli as coordinator, Ehsan Soleimanian as analyst, and Jafar Ranjbaran and Yasaman Madani serving as team managers for the men’s and women’s squads, respectively. Athletes are required to report to the Azadi Sport Complex with their official credentials and passports. These sessions serve as the primary build-up for the 2026 Asian Mountain Bike Championships (Cross-Country and Downhill disciplines), which is set to be hosted by Tashkent, Uzbekistan, this July.
