Pezeshkian during visit to damaged Azadi Stadium: Enemies fear every symbol of hope and national pride
Tehran - BORNA - President Pezeshkian toured the Azadi Sports Complex, which had been completely destroyed during the recent attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime.
During the visit, the President was briefed on the latest reconstruction status and the assessment of damages. Speaking with sports officials and the complex's management, he emphasized the necessity of accelerating the reconstruction process, fully restoring damaged infrastructure, and providing comprehensive support for the country's sporting venues.
Expressing deep regret over the targeting of sports facilities and public infrastructure, Pezeshkian stated: "Attacking sports complexes is not merely the destruction of a structure or physical space; these venues are part of the historical memory, national identity, and symbols of the effort, hope, and pride of this land's youth."
The President pointed to the special place of this complex in Iran's sporting history, adding: "Over the past decades, this complex has been the scene of great achievements, epic moments by athletes, and the joy and pride of the Iranian people. Targeting such a place clearly shows that the enemies of the Iranian nation are not only hostile toward our defense capabilities and scientific progress but toward every symbol of dignity, vitality, solidarity, and honor of the Iranian people."
